Worimi Conservation Lands Plan of Management
----------------------------------------------------------
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is starting work on preparing a Plan of Management for the Worimi Conservation Lands. The Plan will outline how the Park will be managed in the future.
Information about the Worimi Conservation Lands, its management and how the Plan will be developed will be on display at the Lavis Lane carpark on Saturday afternoon 30th October from 1pm to 5pm.
This will also be an opportunity for visitors to let us know why the Park is important, and about any issues for consideration in the Plan of Management. The information displays and NPWS staff will be available anytime between 1pm and 5pm.
The Stockton Recreational Vehicle Area, where Conditionally Registered Vehicles (including quad bikes and trikes) can be lawfully operated, is wholly within the Worimi Conservation Lands. This will be an important opportunity for users of this RVA to meet with local staff and contribute to the future management direction of the lands.
You can also let us know why the Park is important to you and about any issues for consideration in the Plan via the Worimi Conservation Lands website. Go to
http://www.worimiconservationlands.com/services.php?top=services&category=parkmanagement&sid=82
OR http://www.worimiconservationlands.com and click on the plan of management consultation link in the ‘important information’ box.
The site also has information about the Plan of Management process, and will be updated as work on the Plan of Management progresses.
The annual Stockton Beach clean up day is also being held on Sunday 31st October. You must register on the day. Registration is from 9am at the Worimi Conservation Lands 4WD beach access at Lavis Lane or Birubi Beach – everyone is welcome. Please BYO sunscreen, hats & gloves. |
