Everyone that wants to contribute in relation to Stockton should attend the workshop on Sunday. It has been advertised for the past few weeks and anybody not coming should look at planning to attend.
Last weekend the National Parks people and a representative from Worimi Aboriginal community made themselves available for discussions in relation to the future of Stockton. I took the opportunity to speak with them and found they were extremely interested to hear what all users have to say as they are trying to find the proper direction for the management of the area. As would always be expected, they have ideas of their own, but they were genuinely interested in hearing from users and discussed issues frankly and openly. This is what we need.
This Sunday is the time for all users of the area to put forward their thoughts and ideas.
As everybody knows, National Parks now manage the area and thay will manage it into the future. Coming into that role seems to have had its difficulties and, after speaking to the people involved, I now have a better understanding of those difficulties from both sides. I can also see some of the problems that will need to be dealt with on both sides into the future.
The future management of the area is being considered and structured in the immediate future and a plan of management will be put in place. Sunday is a very important part of the beginning of that process and our input is requested. I encourage everybody to contribute their thoughts in a positive way and try to attempt to understand both sides of the present and future management of the area. National Parks are certainly taking all steps they can to hear, understand and take into account what all users of the area have to say.
It is the job of National Parks to tell users how the area can be used and right now is the time for users to tell National Parks what is wanted and what is needed. Sometimes these are two different things. Sometimes wants and needs look different but are not. With co-operation and with information flowing both ways we have the best opportunity to have our wants appreciated as needs and included in the management of the area. This is the time National Parks needs our input the most and this is the time our input will have the greatest effect. The input of users will always be needed but right now is the most important time for it.
If you can't make it don't hesitate to drop me a PM with ideas you would like aired on Sunday. I won't be wasting peoples' time speaking on behalf of others if the ideas sent to me seem to have no merit whatsoever but I am more than willing to pass on ideas that are good for the use of the area. I will have no hesitation in pushing for things that I don't necessarily want but others do want - people use the area fo a number of purposes and this is all about as many people as possible getting the greatest enjoyment possible from the area. I don't think any one person can come up with all the good iseas so I am always eager to hear ideas from others.
If you choose to not be involved in this extremely important part of the management of the area please don't participate in any negative criticism relating to the area in the future.
Lets make a positive difference right now. See you Sunday! |

| I will be there hoping that we can be listened to & taken seriously. I spoke to the guys in the car park on saturday had many idea's from a bigger RVA area, A seasonal RVA area, to a system that has different levels of RVA user, novice inter up to a unrestriced advanced level, ways of identifying the different levels, I even offerd to take pictures of poeple who ride in the wrong spots so they can be sent fines, if the beach was opened up & we could ride in the big hills. I have herd so many people cry & whinge about the beach so get your ass there & make a difference, if you are not there then you dont care what happens. |

Sorry I didn't get there too busy or do I just not care anymore? _________________ YFZ450
