Well finally got the old 330r to hit its top end powerband, finally just got it jetted real close with a full new ignition system and just rode it and rode it. Seems to go fairly well off idleand into early mid range, falls off a bit at peak midrange then gets on band and pulls nicely. Im assuming to get my midrange correct its a matter of the needle clip setting? Overly, im not real impressed with the LRD top end. Yes it goes good but not as good as I was expecting. Maybe It needs more tweaking to get full HP from it.

Anyways, im pretty happy about it.

Matt

So it was ya ignition? Jetting to perfection is a fine art. You may need to look at needle width aswell...
Glad to hear its getting sorted. I felt sorry for you OZDay. Glad you showed up any way bro.

Hello mate, I assume you have the 300 cylinder moded for the TRX330 piston, did you machine from the top of cylinder or bottom because it seems that in stock form (machining from the bottom) the 300 has more torque but not a lot of overall performance in crease from the 250r as compared to machining from the top of cylinder to OPEN UP the port timing like Flotek in the states does.

My 300 top end is being done by Denny at Flotek. If your not a member at http://airfoolers.com/forum/ already you should become one. Theres threads on it at airfoolers.com
If you think about it, you cant take that much off either end alone and excpect it to run well. It throws everything out. It will effect port timing.

I just found this. lol.

Sorry Matt, I have had my Hondaline 300R Goggles on for the past couple of weeks Laughing .

Yer Ben, I was wondering how long it was going to take for you guys to figure it out laughing I have a standard Jug at Flotek to get the magic wand over, will be interesting to see the performance of his work on a standard Jug. I have also joined the Hondaline 300R club Wink I haven't got it from the states yet but it's been bored & modified for the TRX 330 piston at 76.5mm at CT racing & I got hold of them and they machine the base of cylinder to keep port timing standard,( ports partially covered) so when I get it I plan to get a spacer made so the ports will be fully open when at BDC and then get the local machinist to modify the top deck of cylinder to get the correct squish distance as per factory spec's !! It may never run ROFL

If you want maximum power you will want to dyno it and sometimes it's cheaper to go shares in a bike chassis and find a bike dyno than go with a quad dyno.

Just a thought.

Duuuude, thats awesome! I'll be super keen to see how the stock top end performs after Denny works it over. Congrats on the 300 too. I didnt realise youve been putting so much into your trike. Good work.
