 |
|
I put a new 40mm Carbi on my R and there was no way the stock intake boot was going over that sucker so I had to remove the air box and do some mod's to get my baby breathing.
Well after deep thought and questioning (on www.3wheelerworld) this is what I came up with. I put my Trike on the trailer and drove down to Wolfy's Auto 1 and parked it at the front door which caught the eye of one of the salesmen who just happened to be the guy how runs the turbo and and air filter department, he was a great help and we were just ripping stuff out of their sealed box's and trying it on in the car park, ( try doing that on EBAY). I used 63mm silicone turbo plumbing which is nice and solid yet flexible. It was a 45 degree elbow and I just kept trimming it till I got the angle around the shock to fit perfect. Did I mention it only came in ATC blue? LOL. Next was the Air filter I got the K&N (model no#RD-0710) which fitted perfectly. Then it was just 2 extra hose clamps, a short off cut of 2+1/2inch exhaust pipe from the exhaust shop and there you have it.
I have also ordered a precharger cover that will be in on Tuesday.
Total cost.
K&N filter..........AU$69.00
K&N Precharger.........AU$20.00
Silicon tube.........AU$89.00
Hose Clamps.........AU$4.00
2+1/2 pipe offcut........FREE.

Good to see some hop up mods still going on thats a real nice set up easy to remove and clean.
In my opion the socked k&n filters work better than a k&n filter in the stock air box with the lid off.
With that sock on there even sand wont get in.. _________________ OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed".......OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed" |
