Hi everyone.

After hijacking oldrodders no spark thread for the 70 thought I should start my own. I have the wiring hooked up as suggested and still no spark. Have double checked the points and think they were a littl tight so have opened them up. Also decided to check the timing and and noticed there is some rust on the flywheel/stator. The downloaded manual says to use a tool to remove the stator but is there a generic way of getting them out. FIgured it might be dirty in there and with a clean it might be the reason I have no spark still....

I think the stator coils aren't working and you may find a break in there when you get the stator off.
You can use a bolt that matches the thread in the flywheel/stator.

Now that is quick service/help Very Happy

So just a longer bolt with the same thread. Have to see what I have around the shed.

I have read I could use either the yellow or black for ignition if one is dead too. The bottom screw for the coils came out quite wet and the the flywheel bolt show's quite a lot of crusty rust etc so if I can pull it will give it all a big tidy up and fingers crossed!

The boot has to screw into the flywheel not the crank, you then keep tightening so that it pushes off. I'm just trying to remember what tool a 90 uses, it could be a special tool.

You can use a VW tie rod end or I can loan you the correct puller.
You can't use the yellow lighting wire.

Thanks green human, I might know where a VW tir rod end is but have been thinking I think I can make something up to work, we will see. Crazy next two weeks of UNI so might not get to it soon.
