BIG CASH POOL FOR THE 2012 KICKSTARTERS GASCOYNE DASH®
Club Announces $40,000 cash prize pool for 2012 Dash
Carnarvon Western Australia 27 July 2012.
Gascoyne Dash has announced a cash prize pool of at least $40,000 for the 2012 Kickstarters Dash®.
Event Director Paul Kelly explained the cash prizes “Cash prizes will be awarded for across all bike and car classes, first to third position. Full details of the cash pool will be released shortly but I can say that winners in each bike and car class will take home $2,000 cash”
Mr Kelly explained the strategy “We looking to increase the competitor field and prestige of the Dash. Cash prizes are part of the compelling reason to experience the Dash challenge”
We asked Mr Kelly about big names for 2012. “We are talking with interstate riders and drivers who are at the pointy end of the Australian desert racing scene and announcements will be made shortly. Our Dash is the event everyone is talking about”.
Mr Kelly acknowledged the efforts of a key subcommittee lead by Wayne Reece and Peter Barrett who were instrumental in seeking prize sponsorship.
The 2012 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash ® will be contested 1st to 4th November 2012 in Carnarvon WA. The race track is back to normal with the run down the Gascoyne River on Sunday with finish at the Carnarvon Race Club.
Entries are open and can be found at www.gasdash.com.
The event is also seeking expressions of interest from volunteers and details can be found on the website.

Glad that it's back to the original route. Just a pity I won't get to have a beer at the Junction Pub.

16 quads entered for 2012, better than the last few years. Shame I'm not there. First time in 5 years I'm not pit crewing.
