Dad made him a fair offer on the air cooled, which needed a fair bit of work, (better have gone thru ebay cheaper), but NO not interested,

The 500 will need some work, he said the 500 engine is freshly rebuilt, needs running in, But it has had the plastics painted, and seat needs recovering, radiator shrouds, and rear brakes, just a bit rough to look at.

Depends on what you want

I would by the 500 it is still somthing rarely seen and is still a fast bike.
-the air cooled is a tad dear for that cond...the 500 motor alone is worth $1500 to sell on its own
I was buying the air cooled for $900 to $1500 10 years ago

Well this guy with the 500 is F**kwit,
1 x SMS message to ask to view it...No response
1 x E-Bay message to view it...No response
1 x phone call...well this was the icing on the cake for me...
im far too busy to show it bla bla bla with a stream of uneducated "profanity removed" dribbling from his retarded mouth i decided he can shove the POS up his arse and go back to screwing his cousin !

The cr 500 motor fits in nice with a little mod apart from that its a happy conversion the pipe is a pro circuit you just have to twist it a little and a few cuts.....And the guy robed me $100 on the deal so I still own it..lol

Ashnery, just interested ... how does it handle with the 500? are they really front heavy etc?

The only way you no it has a 500 in it ,is the vibration coming through the handle bars...
the two engines are almost the same size and weight..

Tony would restore a 250R shadow given half a chance...

Sounds like the price was a tad high for a restoration start point.

No pics Ben but its up on top of the paint booth at work .....it was very rough but you know what....it was actually a good buy.....it's funny how some people look at things(there own things) through rose coloured glasses...the trike needed the frame to be painted, plating of bolts, bodgy screws to be replaced, needed an airbox, had some bodgy suspension linkage on it and the engine mounts look like they were made by a 5 year old....all over yep a pos but mostly there.Id rather buy that for the figure i did and do it all myself than buy one where some ones "fully restored mint" rose coloured vht spray canned bike where the crappy acrylic or fast dry enamel washes off with petrol.......at least I know what I'm getting myself in for
