I need help trying to remove the snap ring thats on the lock nut on the rear axle anyone know how to remove it??,Just went riding and the bearings in the carrier collapsed and locked up and where would I get bearings for the carrier from???

Keep undoing the axle locknut until the pressure comes off the sleeve that covers that snap ring then you should have access to remove it easily.
Take one of the old bearings to that bearing shop down from where your dad works(Munibung Rd) and they will match it plus the seals too, i picked up some from there last year.

I finally got the outta lock nut and the sleeve off,I had to cut it in half to get it off. Mad Mad

got another problem,the disk carrier is seized on.any idea how i can get it off???

Find someone with a press and carefully press it out, I have one if you can't find anyone closer to you.

I just had to pull the swing arm out,

this is the hub i cant knock off the spline of the axle,glen would you be able to press this off???



and my poor trike pulled down

i finally got the disk hub of and have now found that the bearing carrier is cracked Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad ...
anyone know where i would get a bearing carrier to suit a 85 250r?

wel I've had no luck with a bearing carrier so dad went and saw pro-mac at cardiff and its now in there getting the crack welded up so I should have that back in 2 weeks hopefully,
and thanks to stitch Its got a new DG pipe on it Very Happy Very Happy

what did you do with your old pipe? i cracked mine near the engine and thought that bit on yours may be ok for a cut n shut.

i still got it but it was crushed and never sat flush against the flange and cracked and welded near the flange aswel i dont know if it will be any good to you....

and steve i dont know if my bike will be back together for easter cause i cant get the carrier welded for about 2-3 weeks Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
if i dont get it done in time i might have to borrow the kwaka of dad for a day to go riding Evil or Very Mad

If you get stuck again let me no I have welded tons of carriers and removed many stubourn bolts and axles over the years.but dont tell anyone!!

hey anthony just take the wheel bearings n seals out of your bike then go over to southern engineering near in-ski near the rounda-bout at carro bridge or down further to bearing dynamics,they should be able to match them up...

Your seal size is (23 x 42 x 7) I can't find the actual bearing size but as Jamie said just go to bearing dynamics they are a great help.
Apart from that I think ATC heaven should be able to help you out.

its back together again,thanks to 250rtony got a outta lock nut and collar of him and was able to put my bike back together to go for a few hrs riding,going riding again tomorrow arvo Very Happy Very Happy
