Howdy
i just thought it was time to tell the people what really happened on the weekend!!!
Such an eventful weekend it was. over the little easter break the track was set and the quads were rolling in with certain bike owners starting with "J" and ending with "ohnny" some how slipping through scrutineering with his A' Arms that may as well of been held on by cable ties and duct tape.On friday the boys set out on a rampage to cut in the famous track that circled for around 7km of some pretty gruesome terrain that was sure to claim its victims, as it did 2 weeks before due to one certain Paul Dickson's efforts in taking out one of the top contenders of the race. now i'm not trying to say that he premeditated this take out move or sabotaged the track for some poor helpless rider to find himself cartwheeling his quad up the track 5th gear pinned but in my mind its still classed as suspicious.
as the afternoon rolled on we saw the famous Red Ted role in with his red and white paperweight closely followed by the middleton family with their Rolles Royce towing a van that may as well of been classed as a freight liner. it was quite a shock to us all when we later found out that these race legends would be retiring from the easter race front due to unforseen circumstances
as day 2 rolled in we were sure to be seeing another all aussie quad park adventure out in the sticks of Frogmore.surely enough as i arrived on the scene pauly D and shawn were missing from the picture, some might even say there were just trying to work out how they could SHORTen their time by CUTting hard in certain places, i guess nobody will ever really know. race time was set to kick off at 2pm and a late entry from Marty Blake arriving from Wollongong the day was just getting better.
later in the day the day we say the dusty conditions get the better of the riders as the big race had to be postponed but better yet being replaced with the nail bitting time trials. as shawn set out to lay down the benchmark time johnny was hard on his tail. it turned out that the concrete cowboy had 1 too many cups of courage that weekend as he passed me with the bike revving at about 22 thousand RPM.surely enough his time was up as his quad decided to go for a role in the dirt.as the day went on we saw pauly D, shawn and Marty lay down some bone shaking times that some say would have been nearly impossible to get. never the less there was always going to be one winner with shawn coming home strong on his "recently serviced" Polaris Outlaw which he claims has only half the power of his other bike yet still managing to lay down a 6 and a half minute lap time...
overall this was a great weekend and amongst the few of us that were there i'm pretty sure i can say that Paul and Karen done a great job at making the weekend such a blast, well done guys!!
thanks again
