i helped a so called mate re-spray a hilux 4wd after his missus , nephew rolled it. he offered me 2grand to do all the paint , prep and buffing required. . Anyway , he got an awsome paint job inside & out. went round to get money and he says he only got half and will get the rest when they come to pick it up. I thought fair enough and waited 2 weeks for a call. NOTHING..  .... so i sms d him only to receive an answer saying , you aint getting anymore money. he recond he done all the work.
I couldnt beleive the bullshit i was reading.!!!. Afterall, im the spraypainter.
I cant stand it when ya get F@#KED over by so called good mates, especially when you"ve done so much for them.
Im sure im not alone with situations like these.!!...
Keep your enemys close , and your friends even closer..

Did you at least get the half that he offered?
Don't think I'd be doing the brake cleaner thing. It's not worth it. Just move on and consider it a life experience that we all must go thru some day.
I take it he's no longer a friend?

yeah, i got half of the total sum.
And i dont consider him a friend no more. Definitly his loss.....
Some people just take , take , take. And when they do give, they still put themselves first.
Brakefluid could be my friend BUT the guy who owns it isnt to blame.
Lesson learned... it just sux to have to ask good mates for money up front from now on.

I know. When I owe money to a mate (or anyone for that matter) I pay immediately once the job is finished and done satisfactorily.

Yeah i feel for ya mate i've been burnt like that from a couple so called mates.. i guess the lesson learned is "cash for keys". you ain't getting your keys back till i get my cash.. simple..

i did a cashy for a guy last tuesday on his brute force (no spark) fixed the problem, friday i ran him he said yep yep ill bring it this arvy i stayed back at work about an hr waitin guess what no show rang him sat mornin and he had forgotton but couldnt get it too me on sat, rang him yesterday and guess what he's in farking nsw and wont be back untill friday.
thats a days pay i missed out on from my boss to do the job and now im quite short for my pay week.
moral of my little dilema dont do any more for this guy and get my coin b4 they get bike.

Friends and money mix as well as oil and water!!
If I do work for a mate, or lend them money, then I usually write it off, unless I get it ... if you know what I mean. Sometimes we need to take stock ... what is more important ... the mate or the money.
To be honest ... if a mate can stiff you like that ... was he actually a mate in the 1st place?

Mmm makes a person wonder what he told the third party to start of with ,, maybe speak to the third party telling the what you done to the car ,, then your so called mate will look like and ass as well as being one to the third party .. simple visit or call should do the trick , and it doesnt have to be nasty words to have the desire effect.

Grizzly ... that is probibally the best attack!! Just give a call, tell them you looking for your mate "John" as he still owes you half on the re-spray on the ute ... then sit back as watch!! They will say "WHAT RE-SPRAY ... !!!" You act dumb ... I love it!!
