 |
|
Hi Everybody.... Hi Dr XRS!...
I noticed on the entry forms for the recent event up near Newcatle that you have to supply a manditory flag marshall. I used to work in th pit for some road bike racing guys and they had the same rule.
This is going to suck for me as I will be the only one competing (all my freinds are too boring to try ) and I will have a tough job finding someone to come with me to flag mashall.
So whilst I am still new to all of this I offer my services to those in a simalar position as described above. Hopefully my good deed then doesnt go un noticed when I hit the track and someone does it for me. All I ask is if there is any cost involed with either entry of food then you chuck some $ in.
Let us know your thoughts on this? _________________ If it's stuck, force it, if it breaks... it probably needed replacing anyway! |

Ever thought of been a scurtineer or the Guy who makes sure all the kids are on the line. there is many jobs for people like your self at a race meet . Get there early and work on the gate . Turn up the day before and do a rubbish run. Help water the track . Be the guy who buys the drinks and Ice. Theres a few . main thing enjoy your race and your mates will come and watch and be jealous. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

The things we have to do just to enjoy ourselves.
Finding flaggies seems to be one of the hardest things in moto X.
Some of our clubs are starting to charge at the beginging of the year when you pay your fees. AJS charge everyone $150 on top of their fees and you get rostered to flag during the year. You flag, you get your money back. You don't flag, they find someone else and give them your $150. Same goes for busy bees, seems nearly everyone wants to race and expect the track fairy to have everything ready for race day.
Everybody needs to put something in to get something back.

I think it was worth a try chargeing $$$$$ but people are happy to pay and not flag. In NT anyways. I think we might try something different next year. I don't know what the answer is. Maybe reduce the amount needed with flashing lights. At the end of the day No duty person No ride on top of all the MA stuff $$$$ nearly getting to hard . _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Quite often the local footy club or CFS can be keen to come out and flaggie for a donation to their club. $500 and a feed at lunch time seems to get them interested. If you have 50 riders.....well you do the math.

I have had years of doing stuff and my mates oooh and ahhh over it, but when it comes to actually making an effort... well thats another story!
Anyways the offer is there to people, I'm not rushing out to buy a quad tomrrow, I am going to be at meets in the near future so may as well help out!
Like I said someone may help me out one day? _________________ If it's stuck, force it, if it breaks... it probably needed replacing anyway! |
