Picked up the frame from the powder coaters,
The beginning.

As listed on evilbay, you can't tell from the photos that the swingarm bolt is frozen in, the fuel tank leaks like a sieve, and the engine is 80thou over size and the bore is scored. A case of buyer beware!!!!!!

Shocky bead blasted and away being regassed.
Checking with an engine machinist tomorrow if barrel able to be re-sleeved and then will order kit from USA. New sleeve, new rod new piston new bearings and probably new clutch plates whilst apart if needed.
Some swingarm bearings arrived today, now to get back to mate who is going to CNC the unavailable swingarm bushes.
Have to find paint code for Honda Passion Red so I can get some 2 pak mixed up to paint tank and other red bits.
Starting to sort bolts for cleaning and replating, learning to replate at home with bright zinc.
Have new cover for seat but have yet to fit.
New plastics will probably be last.
Gold swingarm, rims, hubs and handlebars should brake up the red and black.
A feature would be good, from basket case to nice new (1983) trike
This one is for my 17 year old son who is assisting me with the resto, plus to get him off my 350X

Whilst saving for a sleeve and piston I have been cleaning all of the bolts and started to plate them at home, its a learning process.
I tried zinc and nickel, here is a photo of some done in nickel.
more soon

I managed to get some colour on the fuel tank today.
Now for some new stickers from atcheaven.
Also the new bearing carrier turned up to replace the original with a big crack in it.

Then I had a beer

some updates..

got some tubing for the airflow through the frame into the airbox..

mounted all the wiring..

and today painted the motor, after dad had broke something, fixed it, then put it back together 3 times Razz...

after the motor has dryed and we have put most the things back on it.. mum will paint the Honda on the side of the motor, either in Silver, Red or Blue?

another thing, the Swing arm bolt, the person who is meant to be machining it up for us, the other night, his workshop got struck by lightning which is another bloody wait on gettin this thing on the Sand...

im also hoping to buy a helmet cam aswell with the proceeds from 18th Birthday moneys.. Very Happy

enjoy..
