Hi guys,

Want to do some riding over the Christmas break.

I've been told there's a good place to ride at Oberon.

Anyone know exactly where it is?

Do people still ride there?

Thanks,

Mick

set your spedometer 33.5 km when turning off the highway and you can ride the left or right hand side

Do they have kilometres in Oberon yet. I thought they still relied on Miles or cubits or some such Smile

Any suggestions on where else to ride in the Sydney area? love trail riding, but there seems to be very few options for this.

This is probably a bit late for you, but the place you're talking about is Duckmallois. Follow the main street of Oberon coming from Bathurst and follow it all the way to the end. It's about half an hour from Oberon. When you get there at the end of that road turn right, and you'll see it on your right.

With pure luck, I managed to survive there the last time I went.

If I had photos and video I'd show you, but basically we went into this track that was locked to 4x4's, and we had ridden about 5-6km down into this gully. When I say down I mean almost vertical.

Long story short, my connecting link on my chain broke and I was stuck in the gully. There was no physical way I could have pushed my bike back. If anything it would have taken me a good 8 hours at least to get out of there, just walking. .... and I would have had to leave the bike behind.

God bless the guys who came riding on their 2 wheelers. One had this home made repair kit and with some knowhow we patched up my bike and I limped back to a place where I could get towed back to camp.

Lessons learned from this event:

PUT A CASE SAVER ON AS SOON AS YOU BUY A BIKE
Make your own repair kit, including links and shove them in a camel back.
